Interior design

Hi Guys,

So today I have been inspired to do a post on interior design!

As a current and future art student design has always been my forte and I have always known that design is where my future lies.

Throughout the past I have always wanted to have a say on how the design of the family home is and if i'm honest I am very controlling with it too haha.

I usually decorate my bedroom every year even if its just a tweak such as painting a single wall a different colour or adding a different design element to the room.

Currently I am loving a neutral palette such as greys or creams for a wall and then adding a splash of colour that is easily changeable depending on the time of year :)

 At the minute a lot of bright colours such as reds, blues and yellows are in fashion and will add depth to any room. You don't want too much of the colour as it can be very overpowering. You just want accents in order to compliment the room.

My bedroom
As you can see from the above picture this is my bedroom on a nighttime. I have overhead spotlights over the bed which eliminates the need for bedside lamps which can sometimes just make a room look cluttered. The bedding was made up by myself by using different items from Next and Chiltern Mills. I feel that this is just the right amount of colour added to the room to give the correct effect.

The use of the cool greys against this brightly patterned wallpaper gives contrast to the room which then draws they eye to the focal point of the bedroom (the bed) without the need of artwork.

LOFT
I have this "LOFT" lettering above the alcove just because well i'm in the loft so why not really plus I do think it looks really cool and it is not very overpowering in the room so therefore subtly ads texture to any wall space in the same way a painting or a print would (the sign is from chiltern mills.)

I then just have matching yellow curtains to match the yellow in the bedding. this ties the two sides of the room together nicely. I also have a pebble rug on the floor, I find a rug gives a homely and cosy feel to any room with laminate or wooden floor. My bedroom furniture is dark wood so I feel that I need to use light colours where I can in order to keep the room feeling light and airy.

I drove to Whitby!

Hi Guys

So today I went to whitby :D

With the weather being nice and all me and Bille decided to go to whitby for the day! It was such fun!

Due to this being my first coastal drive (about an hour and a half away) I couldn't wait to get onto the open road haha and i was well prepared!

I set off at about 9:00 in the morning arriving in whitby at around10:45.

when we got there we went for a bit of a wonder and went for a nice walk down the marina :)

we then went on to get some chips because clearly you have to have chips when you go to the coast! hahaha they were so nice but the service was a bit confusing if i'm honest.

The weather was on our side with the sun out in full force with just the odd cloud every now and then. it was about 18 degrees Celsius which is quite warm for England haha although the sea wind did make it a bit chilly sometimes.

I then treated myself to a waffle with chocolate sauce :) it was really nice but it was no Rosies Diner.

heres some pictures of the day :)

Maleficent!

Hi Guys

So this Friday Me and Saz (Sarah) went into Leeds and went to see Malificent,

Firstly we went to Ceilio Blanco in Trinity Leeds, this is a Mexican restaurant that also sells a collection of cocktails, I ordered the black bean and roasted vegetable Enchilada IT WAS SOO NICE! I also had this watermelon and pear cocktail (I been drinking watermelon) and tbh I didn't really rate that but I don't like the taste of alcohol so that might have played a part in it. Apart from that i would highly recommend that restaurant :D

Enchiladas at Ceilio Blanco
Once we had finished our meal we then met up with Ashleigh and her Mum, we went to Browns in the light, it was real classy hahaha I got a Coconut and lime daiquiri and that one was quite flavoursome and I did enjoy it :)

Coconut and lime Daiquiri
After the cocktail we then went off to see Maleficent! it was sooo good! For those of you who don't know what it is ill give you a quick brief...

Maleficent is a modern day adaptation of the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty starring Angelina Jolie. The storyline of the film is more focussed on the evil fairy Maleficent (clue in the title) and how she came to be the way she was. The film also has twists that didn't happen in the original film! :D

So anyway I wont tell you anymore about the actual film as I don't want to spoil it for you :)

After the film we went to a Cocktail bar in the Trinity Kitchen I got a Ribena cocktail thing which was quite refreshing until i hit the alcohol part :/ but apart from that it was ice :) Sarah got a candy floss martini thing which looked pretty cool|! it came with actual candy floss!!

Ribena thing
later in the night we finished off at the Alchemist! now that is a cool place but it was too busy for my liking :/ I'm not a lover of huge crowds you see. We both ordered bubblegum Daiquiri's this came with POPPING CANDY! I know cool! but the actual drink was nothing special :( I liked the idea of the alchemist but I think if i go again it will be on a quieter night and i would try something a bit more extravagant lol

May Favourites!!

Hi Guys!

So I guess this is my first monthly favourites blog! How exciting

For my monthly favourited blog I will be talking to you about everything I have loving this past month.

Lets get started...

Television Shows;

Firstly I would like to talk about the TV shows I have been loving this month,

Once Upon A Time: This is a Tv show based in the fictional land of Storybrooke and also in the Fairytale land of the Enchanted Forest. I AM HOOKED! I have just finished the 3rd series of the show as it has just finished on TV. I have been following the show since it first started and its just getting better and better! I cant wait for it to return I have literally been on the edge of my seat... ITS RIVETING.

AWKWARD: This is also an american based TV show and it is SOO SOO GOOD! I mean i cant wait for a wednesday just to watch it :D It follows the life of an american teenager going through high school and the troubles she has to face! (trust me its better than i'm describing).

Music;

Fleetwood Mac: I guess you all know who Fleetwood Mac are and if you don't you will have definitely heard their songs. Well me and Faye (my sister) Have just suddenly become hooked its strange really but we don't care we LOVE them! They have such amazing songs. Ive even dug out the CD from my parent collection and put it in the car! IM 18 AND IVE BEEN CRUISING TO FLEETWOOD MAC!

Kate Bush: Just because WHY WOULD YOU NOT LOVE KATE BUSH? The entirety of my friends and family really have all succumbed to her music! she's amaze-balls lol.

Food;

At the beginning of the month I kind of went on a bit of a binge so I decided I needed to put an end to that so I have been trying to eat healthy, let me just emphasise the word TRYING!

Coconuts: I don't know why but lately I have been having a right craving for coconuts! (Deffo preggers). So I just thought id mention that, yea okay.

I cant think of any other food?

Restaurants;

So yesterday me and one of my bestest chums Ashleigh went to rosies Diner! and what a place that is!! The decor of the diner is AMAZING, its done out like an authentic American diner! The Music was on point with classic rock n roll, And the food... THE FOOD! It was just to die for! We only went for deserts but oh they were good! I got Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice cream and WOW I have never ever had a brownie like it! It was delish!! Ashleigh after 40 minutes deciding eventually ordered waffles with Chocolate sauce and Ice Cream and by all accounts and the smile on her face I guess it was also divine so all in all for the deserts menu at Rosies Diner I give it a 5 out of 5!

MMMM Brownine
